Anna Rose is an artist and educator who has lived and worked in Florence, Italy since 2004. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from San Francisco Art Institute.
Across video, installation and photography, her work draws on the seemingly commonplace rituals and objects of daily life. Employing the repetition of certain gestures, the tropes of consumer culture, or the heightened tactile or sensorial quality of a material, her work destabilizes the familiar, directing our attention to the embedded and often problematic cultural weight it may carry.
She has exhibited her works across Europe and North and South America, and has participated in artist residencies in Iceland, Hungary, Canada, Italy and Malta. She is also the co-founder of the cultural association Creative People in Florence, an organization that supports an international community of artists, designers, artisans, and creative thinkers in Florence, Italy with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
