Through the rich cultural, historical and psychological associations with hair, these works reexamine familiar tropes of femininity, memory, and childhood. Playfully subverting the fetishization and mythologization of hair, the work provides a location for the acting out of the simultaneous attraction, revulsion and fear often ascribed to the (female) body, on the edge between the beautiful and the unkempt, the composed and the repellent.
